Coral Ridge

Classic East Side Waterfront

Coral Ridge sits on Fort Lauderdale’s east side, between the Intracoastal and the ocean, built around wide streets, waterfront lots and its country club. Homes range from well-kept originals to full rebuilds, and the draw is dockage, beach access and a genuine neighborhood feel. Bayview Elementary anchors demand here like few schools elsewhere in the city.

Inside Coral Ridge

Golf and Water in the Same Neighborhood

Coral Ridge runs from Sunrise Boulevard north to Oakland Park Boulevard, and from the Intracoastal west to the Middle River. It was platted in 1949, which makes it one of Fort Lauderdale’s older planned neighborhoods, and it holds about 1,350 single-family homes.

What separates it from the waterfront enclaves to the south is that it offers both a golf course and a dock, in a neighborhood where people actually raise children.

Water and Dockage: Read This Part Carefully

Coral Ridge is not a single waterfront proposition. It is two.

Properties east of Bayview Drive have waterfront with direct ocean access. Properties on the Middle River sit behind the fixed bridge at Sunrise Boulevard, which caps air draft and rules out taller vessels outright.

That one street is the most consequential line in the neighborhood, and it is the first question to settle. Canal widths here run generously, roughly 110 to 195 feet. Depth, dock length and clearance still need confirming address by address.

George English Park provides a public launch for smaller craft.

The Club

Coral Ridge Country Club sits at 3801 Bayview Drive, with an 18-hole championship course designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. in the 1950s. It is often described as the closest golf course to the Atlantic in Broward County. Eleven tennis courts, a junior Olympic pool and clubhouse dining. Coral Ridge Yacht Club is the other anchor.

The Homes

The original stock is 1950s and 1960s Florida ranch, and much of it has been either heavily renovated or replaced with contemporary custom construction. Mostly low-rise: the high-rise inventory people associate with this part of town is on the Galt Ocean Mile corridor, not inside Coral Ridge proper.

A note on names. Coral Ridge Isles is a different neighborhood, further west. The two are frequently confused and they are not the same market.

Schools

Bayview Elementary is the draw, and it is a genuine one. It is consistently cited among the strongest public elementary schools in South Florida, and it moves demand here in a way school assignments do not in most of Fort Lauderdale. Sunrise Middle and Fort Lauderdale High sit above it. We confirm the current zone by address.

Who Buys in Coral Ridge

Families, and buyers who want a boat and a tee time without joining the lock-and-leave world further south. It is more settled than the isles and more residential than Las Olas, and it is the only Fort Lauderdale neighborhood where a championship golf course and ocean access sit inside the same boundary.
